Suited Poker Chips
Suited chips are by far one of the most popular patterns for poker chips. Perhaps it’s the familiarity of the suits. They work well when forming a coordinated collection of gaming accessories, since card suits are a natural extension of so many gaming accessories.
The Pattern
Chips come in a variety of patterns, including suited, diamond, striped, specialty, and dice designs. For suited chips, you’ll find the design encircling the chip along its edge on each side. The suited design is a repeated pattern of spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds.
The Colors
Suited chips come in a variety of colors. Of course, when you play a game, you can assign the values you want to each of the colors you have. These are some common values: white, $1; blue, $5; red, $10; green, $25; black, $100.
Proportions
Since lower value chips are played most often, you’ll want to invest in a larger quantity of the lower value than the higher value chips. A good rule of thumb is to purchase at least 300 suited chips for three to four players, 500 for four to five players and 650 for five to six players.
Weights
The most popular weight for a poker chip is 11.5 grams, though they are available in other weights.
Real Clay vs. Casino Style
Clay chips are made out of real clay and are the real chips used in most casinos. Casino style are made from clay composite. The casino chips are generally the chip of choice because they look just like the chips used in casinos and are affordable.
Quality
It’s important to realize that if you buy a low-quality product, you might end up with inconsistencies in the colors or patterns. Also, cheaply made chips might be warped; you won’t be able to stack them.
When you invite your friends over for a night of poker, confidently present a handsome, professional array of suited poker chips and get down to business. |
